Strengthening the social, economic and territorial development will be achieved through this project, since it’s main objective is to create favorable business environment for growth of capabilities and employment potential of SMEs through the establishment of two joint cross-border clusters in the sector of agriculture, applied ICT in agriculture and mechanical engineering industry, coordinated by business support institutions and research institutions, in the area of Sombor and Belišće.

Through this cooperation and networking among knowledge institutions, local companies and citizens using “Quadruple helix innovation and cooperation form” (cooperation of government, industry, academia and NGOs) will be initialized, therefore enabling application of new, innovative services in agriculture and food industry through knowledge-sharing and knowledge and experience transfer. Those activities will increase cooperation between enterprises, business support institutions, and SMEs, as well as cooperation of them all with research institutions. Attention will be paid and on analysis of possibilities and capabilities of using different types of renewable energy sources for different agricultural activities in the cross-border region, which will support environment protection and sustainable energy promotion throughout the region.

CBC Clusters project will strengthen cooperation between SMEs, business support institutions, clusters, education and research organisations and entrepreneurs by establishing two joint cross-border clusters in the sector of agriculture, applied ICT in agriculture and mechanical engineering industry in the area of Sombor and Belišće. Together with that,  joint mobile and web-based solutions based on provided education programmes with the purpose of strengthening CBC B2B cooperation and boosting business environment in the programme area will be developed. Described activities are mainstream activities for enhancing innovation, new technologies and new and innovative ICT solutions.

Furthermore, web-based tool for mapping of the renewable resources in agriculture in the CBC region will be developed as well. This all will help SMEs, business support institutions and interest groups create favourable business environment for growth, but general public will benefit also by increased employment potential in the region.
